Las Vegas

Las Vegas

Walking through Las Vegas you start wondering “Where is the recession?” The sidewalks are full, the casinos are full, the restaurants are full. Maybe the only places less crowded are the high end shopping areas like the new Crystals, the shopping center of the new Citycenter.
The main reason to stop in Las Vegas on this trip was the new Citycenter, which opened last December. So I spent most of the day walking through and around the buildings of the Citycenter: the Aria (hotel, casino), the Crystals (shopping center), the Vdara (hotel / condo), Mandarin Oriental (hotel / condo), the Veer Towers (condos). The Harmon Hotel (boutique hotel, unfinished, completion unknown due to ongoing litigation; had to be reduced from 49 floors to 25 floors due to construction defects)
You cannot come to Las Vegas without going to a show. I got tickets for KA by Cirque du Soleil at the MGM. Well, the 90 minute show seemed to be over in 5 minutes ….
