Not much excitement today. The first picture pretty much shows what I saw for the last 400 miles. You can see for yourself: Just follow Highway 285 from Santa Fe south on Google Earth.
The route took me through Roswell, NM. I may have spotted the shadow of a resident alien next to his space ship.
I passed through a handful of small towns. They looked pretty depressing. Lots of empty and run down houses, gas stations and businesses closed.
Getting closer to Texas you could see oil rigs in the fields on either side of the road.
