Nashville

Today was ‘history day’. I started off with a visit to the Belle Meade Plantation, which became famous for breeding the best race horses in the south. Apparently most of the winners of the Kentucky Derby can trace their blood line back to Belle Meade. It also had a very active social live. Apparently five presidents visited or stayed at the mansion.

After Belle Meade I headed over to the Hermitage, the house and plantation of Andrew Jackson, the 7th President of the United States. It was the Halloween Weekend and the preparations for ‘The Haunting at the Hermitage’ was in full swing. Besides the mansion and other building on the grounds I saw quite a few witches.
